I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Derek's wedding at Indiana Theatre last month. Their day was pretty much perfect - beautiful location, lovely weather, and a wonderful group of friends and family by their side.
I started out by meeting Derek and his groomsmen in the upstairs dressing rooms for their "getting ready" shots. They were a really fun group of guys who all seemed perfectly comfortable in front of the camera.
Next, I spent some time with Jessica and her bridesmaids. Jessica was such a beautiful bride and her bridesmaids all seemed very sweet.
That garter? It's the same one her grandma wore when she married her grandpa. I love family heirlooms like that!
We did all their portraits outside, using the beautiful exterior of the theater as our backdrop.
This was really a fabulous, and I loved their details, especially their guest signature board. Jeanette at Simple to Elegant did a wonderful job with the decorations and keeping the ceremony and reception on track.
This is Jessica and Derek's adorable little girl Lynlee.
Derek loved the idea of shooting in this alley down the block from the theater.
Derek and Jessica decided not to do a first look, so they were both pretty anxious for the ceremony to start so they could finally see each other!
The officiant was Jessica's grandpa. It was a very sweet ceremony.
This wedding party was awesome. I was a little nervous, with 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, a flower girl, and a ring bearer. But they were all wonderful and we were able to get through the photos pretty quickly so they could get to the reception and not keep the other guests waiting too long.
They made quite an entrance into the reception!
After the toasts, we headed back outside for a few more photos of Jessica and Derek alone, then back inside for the cake and first dance. This was such a wonderful wedding and they are a beautiful couple, inside and out!
