Brazil, Indiana Wedding Photographer {Kaity + Billy}
Kaity and Billy got married on a beautiful fall day at her parents' property. The weather could not have been more perfect and everyone in both families and everyone in the wedding party was absolutely sweet and wonderful. The fall decor and all the little details were stunning. Seriously, I just can't say enough nice things about this wedding.
After spending just a little time with Kaity and the bridesmaids, we headed up to the top of the hill where she would be waiting before the ceremony.
Leah was maybe the most photogenic little flower girl ever.
Kaity was a beautiful bride!
That little heart on the back of Kaity's dress was from her grandpa's handkerchief.
Kaity and Billy have the cutest little boys, Case (on the left) and Cohen (on the right).
After a first look with her dad, it was time for the first look with Billy. I LOVE first looks. Obviously, it's great to be able to get the photos out of the way before the ceremony, but the biggest advantage is more time together for the bride and groom. If you spend the whole day separated up until the ceremony, then spend most of the reception greeting your guests, that doesn't leave much time to be alone together. With a first look, Kaity and Billy were able to have this time together and enjoy their first look without a hundred pairs of eyes watching them and then were able to spend most of their day together.
These boys are just the cutest, aren't they? Case was fairly happy to have his photos taken as long as he could see the back of the camera when we were done. Thank God for digital!
This shot was a special request from Kaity. The rings are in the dogwood tree they "planted" during their ceremony.
This was one of the prettiest weddings I've seen. I loved all the fall colors and rustic details.
See those pies? A family friend made all of them and the raspberries for some of them case from the property where they got married.
I just love this image of Cohen! He is such a sweet little boy!
Another advantage to a first look (and to padding the schedule a bit) is plenty of time to spend relaxing before (and after) the ceremony.
Billy and his groomsmen (his brothers and dad) spent the last half hour or so before the ceremony out on a boat.
I was a little worried when I first saw the ceremony site because it was in full sun, but Kaity had timed it just right and the sun was just below the tree line at the start of the ceremony, giving us perfect lighting.
My favorite thing about outdoor weddings is that I can walk all around to get different viewpoints without worrying about church rules or pew placement.
Kaity and Billy chose to plant a tree during their ceremony in place of a unity candle or sand ceremony. I've never seen this done before but it was perfect for them.
I rarely suggest photos like this because they tend to turn out a little cheesy if the people aren't really into it, but when someone in the wedding party suggests it, it's always fun and looks much more genuine.
Billy's dad was his best man and his toast was awesome. I can't remember exactly what he said, but it must have been hilarious.
Their first dance was so sweet!
