Kathryn + Michael's wedding was so beautiful! I loved their choice of church, reception venue, and brightly colored flowers, but the best part was just watching the two of them together. They couldn't keep their eyes off each other, they are very clearly very deeply in love, and they weren't afraid to laugh, have fun, and be silly together.
Kathryn was one of the most chill, relaxed brides I've ever photographed. When I arrived at the house, she was putting her makeup on on the back porch with a couple of friends. In fact this whole wedding was very chill. No bridal party, no formal parent dances, no bouquet toss, just two people saying their vows and celebrating with friends and family.
I'm not Catholic (I'm kind of Baptist-ish actually), but I do love Catholic weddings. I love the traditions and the beauty and I just love how God seems more a part of the ceremony than in some others.
The church was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad were able to take a few photos inside after the ceremony.
The image below is one of my favorites from the day. I just love the way they're looking at each other and the simplicity and symmetry of the composition.
When we arrived at the reception venue, we took a few minutes for some portraits before entering the reception.
This one is another favorite!
I love that they had pie instead of cake! They also had cookies, which were fabulous!
I just loved the way they looked at each other!
Right before I left for the evening, we headed outside for a few more portraits. Especially when the bride and groom don't do a first look, these times are really important, not just for photos but to give them a few minutes (kind of) alone together.
That beautiful flower crown? Handmade by Michael! He did an amazing job and I just loved the pop of color and summery vibe.
See? Told you they weren't afraid to be silly together!
