Our next stop after Skyline Drive was the Royal Gorge Bridge. This suspension bridge is over 1000' high. The suspension bridge at Turkey Run still kind of freaks me out but this one didn't bother me. The views were amazing and it's part of a park that has a gondola ride over the gorge, ziplining, and playground and some other stuff. It was a bit pricey in my opinion (but for a family of 6, most things are!) and would have been more worth it if we had spent longer there. I think there are some hiking trails too but we didn't go on those and some of the attractions were already closed for winter. But this was definitely worth seeing and I'm glad we made the stop.
The gondola ride was fun. The views were awesome but since it's enclosed I had to take photos through the smeary windows. I usually hate heights, but for some reason this didn't really bother me.
One of the few photos of all 6 of us from this trip.
I love the two photos below. It's the bottom of the gorge seen through cracks and holes in the bridge.
Coming up in part four: Tunnel Drive Trail in Cañon City, Colorado!
